I'm Still Alive!!... Sort Of

Today has been the first chance I've had to just sit by myself and do whatever I feel like. I realize that for most people, that is pretty rare. For me, however, it's been my life ever since I first left for college. So two jam-packed weeks, scheduled almost to the minute, of being responsible for at least 10 teenagers at any given time has left me rather tired.:)

However- I love it. I'm always reminded of the way a returned missionary talks about his/her mission when I try to describe it. I'm guessing that being on a mission would be more exhausting than being a camp counselor, but I can say I've never been so tired in so many ways and yet having so much fun at the same time. I love the girls I've had in my groups so far- I was afraid after the first week that I wouldn't be able to like the second week's girls as much- but I was very wrong. Once again, I had the great opportunity to meet some amazing, hilarious, awesome girls and watch them live and learn the Gospel. I'm trying not to sound cliche, but it really is so fun and fulfilling to meet these youth and do the best of my ability to answer their questions about the church. More than that is the amazing insight some of these kids have provided- it's just an amazing experience. It leaves me more tired than I can recall ever being, but I am learning so much just from being with these kids. I'd also like to point out that EFY has two dances a week- how could you go wrong with that? Most of you know that I pretty much live for dance parties- and an added bonus- I get to do "Passion Patrol"!- haha which really is quite fun/amusing. We basically walk around during the slow songs, make sure hands are in appropriate places, and that kids aren't too close to one another. I wish I could describe to you how fun it is- probably because I like to be obnoxious, and I can't think of anything much more obnoxious than having a "moment" with someone during a slow song, only to be interrupted by some counselor who's singing along loudly while moving the guy's hand up to the girl's shoulder blade. Heheheheh :D

So basically, I love it, and I'm exhausted.

I'd like to point out that the picture in the post prior to this one where I have those four boys around me is not of them trying to flirt with me. Every time something happened that they didn't like or understand, I suddenly had four, sometimes five, tall teenaged boys surrounding me, getting closer and louder with every, "But why?!!" This group of boys was hilarious, but team Caitlan is only one person, so it made for a crazy week. ;)
Here's my girls for this past week- so fun.:)

I contend that EFY is much more exhausting than being a missionary, and it's not just my age talking.... :)

Missionaries have to be in bed by 1030 and up at 630. I'm jealous...

Have a good week....

Thanks, Bob, for the info. I'm her mother so I need to know these things.
