Monday Morning

So it's only 10:30 and I have had a fairly interesting morning. I decided it would be a good idea to buy my books today since class starts tomorrow. So, I thought I would run to campus, get my books, and ride the bus back. No such luck- I ran to campus, which wasn't too bad, but when I went to get my bus pass, everything was closed for Labor Day. The Wilk was open, but only for food and books, no other services. My cell phone also died last night, so I couldn't call anyone for a ride. I decided to buy my books anyway. I mean, you know, sometimes college textbooks aren't heavy.... Thus began another adventure- the good news is that they had all of my books in stock. Which, I think this is my first bookstore experience where they had everything I need. The bad news, however, is that only one book was available as used. A somewhat large chunk of money was not saved by me today. Something I found interesting- for one of my psych classes, one of the required books is titled "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work." But flipping through it I realized it's a lot about behaviors and interaction, so maybe it does apply. I did a doubletake when I saw it on the list though haha. So after getting all 8 of my books, I realized that my arms would probably fall off if I carried them all the way back to my apartment. I then remembered that I was in a bookstore, and while I was spending all of this money, I may as well get a backpack. It's actually a pretty sweet backpack- when my cell phone comes back to life, I'll post a picture of it because I love it so much. And the nice thing about the backpack- it was 25% off! So I did get at least one thing cheaper than usual. And all that walking had its benefits- I got more exercise, a little bit of sunshine, and, oh yeah, there were a couple guys on my way that said hi to me. Haha I also saw a guy wearing a vest made of lime green and bright yellow duct tape. This is why I came to college.:)

Nice, and you even met some guys. There really is no shortage at BYU, is there? I love that you are blogging!
