Better than Caitlan Cake

My roommates don't like to call it Better than Sex Cake, but they do love it when I make it- so they named it Better than Caitlan Cake. I personally take this as a compliment and think it's really funny. Today we had a big dinner with people over- it was delicious! with Better than Caitlan Cake for dessert. Haha :)

What a weekend! A new nephew (not a niece, haha), a blind date, and Elise came to visit! Where to begin.... we'll start with Friday.

My friend Colin and I have an agreement that as long as one of us is single, the other will do their best to set them up on dates. Colin has a girlfriend, but I'm flying solo so he gave me a call this past week and asked if I'd like to join their group date on Friday night. It ended up being way fun- I know Colin and his girlfriend Mary so that was fun and my date was a pretty cool guy. We went to see the Joseph Smith movie (amazing- definitely a good movie and it made me think and realize a lot) and then walked around Temple Square for a little bit. After that we went to Denny's, where something kind of funny happened. James, my date, spoke Spanish and so did his brother, who was also there. While we were eating, they started having conversation. I don't understand Spanish, but I did hear the word "anos" in a question his brother directed at him, and James answered "Diez y ocho, diez y nueve?" Suddenly I understood- they were trying to decide how old I was! Haha after they finished, I smiled at his brother and said, "I'm about a month away from being 19." The look on their faces was priceless- they thought I didn't understand they were talking about me! So it was a fun date, I'm not sure if things will go anywhere, but I consider my Friday night well spent.

Saturday was a very fun and crazy day! Around noon, a bunch of us went to see Enchanted, which was amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone- I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Haha actually at one of the parts, I laughed so hard- I got a headache! Which was funny except it continued for the rest of the day- :( lame. But after the movie, perfect timing- Elise showed up! We had so much fun shopping for gifts- I'd go into more detail about these awesome gifts, but some of my readers are the recipients! After shopping, we went and got some Japanese food- ah so good! Elise took a bunch of fun pictures, so you'll have to check her blog, but it was delicious and pretty! Oh, and fyi- I did get real sushi- it had raw smoked salmon in it and it was so YUMMY.:) And my other rolls had masago (fish eggs) in them, which I had never tried and surprisingly didn't mind. After eating, Elise and I headed back to my apartment wear we donned our Cougar gear for the basketball. Haha I know it pained Elise to wear blue and white, but we had a fun time at the game. And the Cougars won- woohoo! It was closer this time than usual, which I thought was good. It made for an exciting game. After the victory we went to Baskin Robbins, which was pretty good, except for some ridiculous high schoolers. I know that was less than a year ago for me, but my friends were never dumb like these kids, I promise.:) We had a very fun evening, but unfortunately by the time we got back from everything, my headache had gotten so bad I had to go to bed.

Today Elise came to church with me, which was fun. Meetings were good.:) When I got home, I had a missed call from my mom. I called her back to find out that Ann-Michelle's baby was on the way! Three phone calls later, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that instead of the expected niece, I have a new nephew!!!! I am extremely excited about this! I know I would have loved a new niece just as much, but I think just because it's such a surprise and I'm so happy for them- I'm so excited to meet this little guy in a week!

This is actually from another time, but we had the same thing tonight, and I wanted to show how pretty Kaylie's chicken dish was!
